1977

Family Rosary Crusade Foundation Inc. was formed by influential businessmen and clergy under the Chairmanship of Jose Soriano, under the behest of Fr. Peyton, to administer the funds generated for the crusade and to ensure the continuity of the mission in the Philippines.

1978

Fr. Peyton’s Mission Popular held, for the next 8 years, free public screenings in the provinces of 17 film reels on “The Story of Fr. Peyton’s Life (1), the Mysteries of the Rosary (15) and Key to Peace (1) a film on rosary rallies staged worldwide.

1981

Radio station FM DWLL “Mellow Touch” began airing the Recitation of the Rosary with Fr. Peyton and continued to do so until 2003.

1985

Fr. Peyton led a major Rosary Rally in the Marian Year declared by Pope John Paul II to commemorate the Blessed Virgin Mary’s 2000th birthday. Jaime Cardinal Sin initiated the consecration of the Philippines to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

1986

Family Rosary Crusade, Fr. Patrick Peyton’s TV Program, aired its pilot episode on PTV 4 Maharlika Broadcasting System. Over 14 years Fr. Peyton’s Films and programs aired on ABS-CBN, NBN 4, ABC 5, RPN 9, CCTV 47 in Cebu, and Mabuhay Channel, averaging 15 hours a week.

1992

The Worldwide Golden Jubilee celebration of FRC, spearheaded by Imelda Cojuangco, began on September 8 with a 4-Hour telethon at the EDSA Shrine and culminated on December 12 with a Grand Marian Procession at Rizal Park with 2 million people in attendance.

1995

FRC was tasked with documenting, Pope John Paul II’s historic visit to the Philippines for the 10th World Youth Day wherein 5 million attended the closing ceremonies in Rizal Park.

1997

FRC, in partnership with ABS-CBN, produced the documentary, “The Untold Story: The Miracle of EDSA” that premiered on Channel 2 in Feb 1998 for the celebration of the 10th Anniversary of the People Power Revolution.

1998

FRC held its First General Assembly for FRC Units and Marian Groups at the Pius XII Catholic Center.

1999

FRC, with Couples for Christ worldwide, staged its first Children’s Rosary Rally in Villa San Miguel wherein children through- out the Philippines and Filipino communities in at least 12 foreign countries prayed the
rosary simultaneously.

2001

FRC celebrated the 50th Anniversary of Fr. Peyton’s arrival in the Philippines with a 4-hour telethon dubbed, “50 Rosaries for 50 Days” over ABS-CBN, in which 3.7 million people pledged to pray the Rosary daily.

For this milestone event, Fr. Eduardo Hontiveros, SJ of the Jesuit Communications Foundation, Inc., penned the official FRC Song, “The Family That Prays Together”. This same year Fr. Peyton received the title Servant of God and the cause for his sainthood was opened.

2005

A Philippine Rogatorial Tribunal was formed for the Cause of Fr. Peyton requiring a diocesan inquiry into his life, virtues and reputation of sanctity.

2007

University of Sto. Tomas’ USTv Student’s Choice Awards recognized Family Rosary Crusade as Best Catholic Program in 2007 and subsequently in 2008 and 2009.

The First FRC Unit Conference was held in Tagaytay in October.

2009

FRC transferred to its new home in Varsity Hills, Quezon City and joined the Council of the Laity of the Philippines (LAIKO).

2011

FRC kicked off the 60th Anniversary of Fr. Peyton’s arrival in the Philippines with a Marian concert, “Maria sa Puso ng Kabataan”, featuring 5 parochial choirs, Noel Cabangon, and Fatima Soriano. FRC’s closed the Anniversary celebration with a Grand Rosary Rally at the Plaza Mayor of the University of Sto. Tomas the venue of Fr. Peyton’s first Rosary Rally in the country.

2012

On May 30, 2012, “A Million Roses for the World”, the pet project of Ambassador Howard Dee seeking to get people to pray a rosary each day for each of the 192 countries, culminated with a grand celebration at the Araneta Coliseum.

2018

The HCFM International Director formally announced to the Philippines the declaration of Fr. Patrick Peyton’s Venerability at a mass held at the Immaculate Conception Cathedral in the Diocese of Cubao.

2019

FRC shifts from traditional media to digital media and embarks on a journey of reinventing itself.
